I have no idea what this is for. Other than looking like an upside down “A”, this has to have some purpose on the telephone poles. There is one on East 34th Street just off of Elyria Avenue and another one on East 35th Street.
The new South Lorain substation is going to replace the one on the lake by Settlers Watch. That means all those ugly towers that run from Oberlin Ave to Black River Landing and go south will soon be gone!
When I drove by there yesterday, there were lineman string new cables, so that may be a catcher for anything that slips or drops while running new wires.
