Good morning, Marcin! Welcome aboard Lorain 365! I’m glad you got over there to get a shot of this project. It is sad to see this happen, but it has been a long time coming. I wonder what other plans the city has in store once the pool is completely filled in.
I was told not too long ago that Longfellow is about two blocks away from being in the “right” neighborhood to benefit from the same government funds that Oakwood and Central will.
Many many memories. Our entire block of kids went there daily in the summer. We were on the swim team. This pool kept us out of trouble. We sometimes walked home for some food and then walked back. So thankful for all of the memories. Looking at the pictures I can still see us all there playing. Brings tears to my eyes having so many memories and the friends that were made!

I don’t think they have any plans, most likely it will just become green space.

Once the fill has settled, about two, three years it will become additional parking for the park which hosts youth sports.
