That is the Broadway Building. For a long time, it housed offices and a bowling alley in the basement. Then a local developer turned it into a hotel & restaurant, added a parking garage and turned the bowling alley into a pool. It has been closed for years and the outside is wrapped in what looks like an old lady’s saggy nylons to keep whats crumbling off the exterior from hitting cars and people below. I’m sure you’ll get to see that view eventually 🙂
Unfortunately we don’t. I love exploring buildings and I love sometimes see the traces of urban decay. On the other hand I would want to rebuild those old houses with their rich history. I always imagine what their walls might have seen and what stories they could tell. For me these old and sometimes shabby building have got something like a soul.
Very strong composition. Impressive. – The building in the background looks abandoned. What is/was in there?
