  1. Do you know how old it exactely is? It needs a lot of redo: There are a lot of windows hidden behind the panels. It must have been a beautiful house and if there is someone who could rebuild it like it was in the beginning it could be a real gemstone.

    1. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to figure out how to search the Ohio Historic Inventory for Lorain, so I’m hoping that one of our resident historians will stop by with ther answer to your question. This poor house has been added to and subtracted from so many times over the years. I don’t know if anyone has an original photo of the house. It has quite the presence when you look up at it from down by the river. Easy to imagine why they built there back in the day. The views must have been like no other.

      1. I hope that this house will get what it deserves as a historical building: someone who cares for a good reconstruction, although I don’t think that this is very likely. It’s part of Lorain’s history and it must have been beautiful then.

            1. Thank you Lisa! I’m going to check out this afternoon. Although it’s weekend I have to work at school this morning. – By the way, I loved your link about all the abandoned houses round the Great Lakes. It was great stuff! I enjoyed going through the pics for several afternoons.
