  1. Thank you for posting this photograph. I lived at 208 Arizona Avenue on the east side of Lorain. The house is now torn down. Seeing the Black River and the Bridge sure makes me homesick!

    1. Yes, I most certainly did live in that really cool shiny yellow brick house behind the old Clark Gas station that was built in the summer of 1967. We liked it much better to live there BEFORE that gas station was built because eventually the big long billboard was erected along our driveway that led to Arizona Avenue. Prior to the building of the gas station, we had a garage directly behind the house facing East Erie. Mr. and Mrs. John Tackas and family lived on East Erie behind us. They sold their house and property to Clark for the gas station. Clark didn’t need our property so we stayed. The billboard helped keep the light out of our windows from the gas station, but it also blocked our view of East Erie. My parents moved into the house at 208 Arizona, the newest one built on the street in 1924 when the tornado came through. Our neighbors at 210 were Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Catalano and their family. Thank you for asking.
