I vaguely recall there being some controversy about it, but thought that was mostly over the porta-potty/Hirohito Bomb, which is why I left it out of the post. I have heard some variations of a story involving the steel mill when Kobe took over and even that the guy who built it is now buried there. Judging by your comment, I’m missing something that has kept the rest of Lorain and the Lorain bloggers from recognizing this as a PH memorial. If you would rather not share what you know of the history of this structure on the blog, you are welcome to email me at Lorain365[at]gmail.com
Are you familiar with the history of this “memorial” on 28th Street? It was less of a memorial to Americans and more of a statement of hate.
