Thanks to an agreement reached between Lorain City Schools, North Central Ohio Bulding and Construction Trades Council and the Ohio School Facilities Commission Jan. 31, project bidding for the construction of the new Lorain High School can commence. After a legal battle between the three parties over a project labor agreement dispute, it appears as if the agreement will stay intact, and the project will move forward. The new, $73 million Lorain High School is still projected to open for the 2016-17 school year, according to Jeff Hawks, executive director of operations.
